Naturalis Historiæ - Quando é que se viu pela primeira vez um crocodilo nos Açores?+info
João Paulo Serafim
15 july - 12 september
João Paulo Serafim reached, with the present exhibition, apparently the most distant point of the photograph to which his work has ever achieved. It has reached this distance from the photograph. His work began by exclusively producing photographic images that interrogated the image, perception, photography and artistic status. But, these images already thought the images in their relations with the objects and already thought them as objects in a three-dimensional world. In this exhibition, the objects gain ground. Appropriated objects of the museography of núcleo de Santo André conquer new functions, looking for new status, insidiously slipping into some previous category, such as sculpture. But they remain consistent with an old interest of the artist in the archive, the museum, the collections - by classification, presentation, preservation. In a space often suspended, in many layers other - heterotopic.
