Summer School Walk&Talk 2020
Now it has become obvious: We are everywhere. An idea of globalization declared itself as a reality, now, present. The virus spread like a big cloud over our heads, reaching everyone. In a blatantly unequal way, because life is also unequal.
Participating in the community motto for the 9.5 Edition, and despite the physical contingencies, we couldn’t let go of our Summer School, which we can use as a platform for meeting, debating ideas and producing knowledge, where students, researchers, artists and curators from various geographies can gather.
We will start with a question: what if it wasn't a virus, but a word? What word would we use for action? What verb? Thinking about the title of Ailton Krenak's book Ideas to postpone or end the world, during the Summer School we want to challenge of thinking these ideas in a fabulous attempt to imagine answers, not to repair the world, but to think about other ways of being. In this outer space, we will meet to talk, share, to perform body practices together and launch trails for the universe in an attempt to create a new world, through artistic challenges, creative instigations and appeal to the imagination.
Adapting to the dynamics of this edition, where it is planned to cross on-line and onsite dimensions, the Summer School runs from our Zoom platform in 5 sessions between 9 to 19 July with artists, curators and members of the organization, in which participants will be challenged to develop various experimental exercises using different media (sound, video, drawing, painting, etc.), with a view to presenting ideas to postpone or end the world on the Festival's online platform, on July 19th.
