Paula Mota was born in Porto, where she graduated in Fine Arts. Since the early 1990s, she has regularly participated in group exhibitions, developing an artistic practice marked by the relationship between image, memory, and archive. Her recent solo exhibitions include Quatro quartos (2021/2022), presented at Arquipélago – Centro de Artes Contemporâneas, Álbuns de arquivo (2019), at Sala do Forno of the Municipal Culture Centre, Namoros rápidos remetem a uma solidão maior (2015/2016), at Galeria Arco 8, and Natureza Morta reinventada (2015), at Museu Francisco de Lacerda.Her work is represented in several museum and institutional collections, as well as in private collections.
