Thank you walking and talking with us!
In 2019, we tested a program organized in 5 Circuits (Island, Exhibitions, Performative, Residencies and Knowledge), reinforced the W&T Pavilion as a meeting point of the Festival (winning project by the architects Artworks & GA Estudio), and intensified the activities of ou Knowledge Circuit, namely the volunteer program that brought 12 young people from Terceira Island. A year from celebrating 10 editions in 2020, this 9th Edition was important to understand (and define) the dynamics and rhythms to be implemented in the next Walk&Talk cycle (2020-2022).
Vitor Balenciano, journalist in Público says that
"in its 9th edition, the Azores Walk&Talk arts festival is increasingly constituting a stimulating field open to experimentation and artistic plurality" (
read the article here). Lorena Muñoz-Alonso says that
"Walk&Talk offers an experimental showcase of art, culture and collaboration, redefining the meaning of 'festival' this summer" (
read the article here). They are good readings of a lived and shared edition between various entities, spaces and people and that makes us very excited about the future !!
It was also an edition for institutional consolidation with the visit of the Portuguese Minister of Culture - Graça Fonseca, underlining the relevance of Anda&Fala - Cultural Association and the contribution of Walk&Talk to the creation and artistic presentation in the Azores and Portugal.
Thanks to our sponsors, partners and suppliers for helping us build and enable this project.
Thanks to all the artists and curators for their availability and for finding a space for creation and sharing on the island.
Thanks to the whole team for enhancing the festival experience!
Thanks to everyone who participated, visited and passed by Walk&Talk 2019.
