Workshop - New Ways of Living II: The House and the City with Ricardo Pereira and Carolina Backlar+info
24 Apr / 10h30 - 13h30
A workshop-meeting for the presentation and reflection on new ways of looking at the house and the city, with perspectives by Ricardo Pereira and Carolina Backlar.
The house, the place of comfort and refuge can also be a starting point to reflect on the ecological footprint in the act of building and inhabiting. Ricardo Pereira presents "A Pequena Grande Casa" as an object of study: a family project of self-construction of a wooden house on wheels, as a more sustainable way of living.
The city, consolidated, plural and heterogeneous, sees in the revaluation of its built heritage the confirmation of its value for urban rehabilitation. Responsible for the "Project for the urban rehabilitation of the Praça Gonçalo Velho Cabral and surrounding area" (Portas da Cidade), Carolina Backlar, of the Atelier Backlar, presents the study and development process of the project, and her vision for sustainable urbanism, allowing us to speculate on the vectors for a city of the future.
